Military: Served as a Private in the American Revolution in the 7th Battalion, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania Militia; Captain Thomas Robinson's 3rd Company, 7th Battalion, Lancaster Militia; and Captain Boggs Militia Company.

Civil Office: Represented Penn's Twp., Northumberland Co., PA on a Committee of Safety for six months in 1777.
